Greetings from the Garden

The giant phlox (phlox paniculata) is fading, but I got a last few cut for this arrangement. They are planted right outside my back door, hiding the AC unit, and their fragrance is wonderful!  One of my favourite flowers is Black Eyed Susan (Rudbeckia) – love the contrast of colours.  And my orange coneflower (Echinacea) is very abundant this year – in fact everything in my garden is abundant this year!  The hostas have never been as large, although there is something eating them – I’ll have to look into that problem and address it!

This past week I was on vacation, spending a few days with one of my brothers in Kingston, which was quite an experience!  He runs a fleet maintenance company specializing in refrigeration trucks.  Let me say this, when you see those trucks pulled over on the side of the road – SLOW DOWN and MOVE OVER!  I have a new respect for these mechanics – repairing a rig while cars and trucks speed by is no picnic!  That is my PSA for this week – back to gardening!

Although I was on vacation I never once set foot into a garden center – and let me tell you these places are worse than HomeSense for me (not by much of course)!  Just ask my husband.  He’s often rolled his eyes and said – “Another plant?  We aren’t running a greenhouse you know!”

I will be sharing more of my garden (including any new arrivals) and any others I come across, on the blog, so please stay tuned!

I agree Donna the gardens are beautiful this year, must be all the regular rain we’ve been getting. Your flowers look fabulous and I’m also enjoying, my much smaller than yours :-) phlox at the cottage.
