A Good News Story – Beau’s All Natural

Good news is … well …. GOOD!  Mainstream media don’t often focus on good news, which is one of the reasons I don’t watch network or local news broadcasts.  I know it sounds all “head-in-the-sand”, but I’m not interested in depressing myself on a daily basis.  I am an up beat kinda person.  Give me the good stuff and only the good stuff.  Those who know are nodding their heads at the moment and I love you all for it!

This story is a pat on the back.  A gold star. A thumbs up. Ultimately, it shines light on something that was done RIGHT!  So, let’s get to it.

I think I may have mentioned recently that I like Beau’s Beer.  And that’s for a number of great reasons.

First, it’s local.  Beau’s is brewed close to home in Vankleek Hill, Ontario.  Supporting local businesses is really important.  Your money goes so much further when it’s spent right at home.

Second, it’s family run.  Built on a dream that father and son cultivated into a fiercely independent business staffed with family members.

Third, variety.  Along with its most popular brew, Lug-Tread Lagered Ale, Beau’s is always brewing up new and tasty beers.  This includes the “spin-off” of the B-Side Label (did you catch that???) which brings international beer artists here to Ontario to give us a local version of great beers.

And finally, customer service!  The first three above are really important, but without great customer service they don’t get you very far.  This story gives Beau’s a gold star in this category from little old me.

A couple of Sundays ago, as I was enjoying a well deserved Kissmeyer Nordic Pale Ale, a second glass poured included some sediment.  Knowing this isn’t a normal occurrence, I decided to contact Beau’s to let them know and ask if it was OK to drink.  Within 2 hours I had a response – that’s 8pm on a Sunday!! That email was followed by another on Monday and by Thursday I had four replacement beers delivered to my work address in downtown Ottawa.  Every person I dealt with was friendly, positive and action oriented.

In these days of giant companies with robot customer service departments, it was so refreshing to deal with genuine people who are more interested in the customer than the bottom line.

Thank you Korina, Becky, Mr. Delivery Guy (sorry I didn’t get your name), and everyone else at Beau’s. It is quite clear that being a local, family run business is working for you!
